Updating

If you update CKEditor Pack to a newer version, review this page first. It helps you do a safe upgrade.

Versioning

CKEditor Pack uses semantic versioning. This means version numbers follow a clear format.

It uses the format:

<major>.<minor>.<patch>
  • Major: Includes breaking changes

  • Minor: Adds new features without breaking existing setups

  • Patch: Fixes bugs and small issues without breaking changes

Before Updating

Before any update:

  1. Review the changelog since your installed version. This shows new features, deprecated items, and required changes.

  2. Test the update in a staging/test environment if possible. This helps you find conflicts safely.

  3. Create a full database and file backup before updating. This lets you roll back quickly if needed.
