AI Foundation (EXT:ns_t3af) is T3Planet’s shared AI foundation for TYPO3. It is the central engine behind all T3Planet AI extensions.

In one sentence: AI Foundation connects TYPO3 to AI models, manages keys and billing, exposes an MCP server for AI agents, and logs every request — so your whole team uses AI in a safe, consistent way.

AI Foundation works in the background. Editors see it through connected extensions such as T3AI or T3AC. Admins configure it in the AI Foundation backend module group.

The module includes Dashboard, AI Providers, AI Context, MCP Server, MCP Tools, AI Features, AI Usage, AI Logs, AI Prompts, Scheduler & CLI, AI Permissions, and Quick Setup.

EXT:ns_t3af - What does it do?

AI Foundation is not a frontend plugin, chatbot UI, page builder, or standalone editor tool. It is shared infrastructure that powers other extensions.

Service layer — Sends requests to OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Mistral, and more.

Configuration hub — One place for API keys, models, and defaults. No duplicate keys in every extension.

MCP server — Lets Cursor, Claude Desktop, and n8n talk to TYPO3.

Credits system — Optional T3Planet billing instead of your own API keys.

Governance — Controls who may use AI, budgets, rate limits, and log privacy.

Telemetry — Usage charts and request logs for cost control and audits.
